In a double broil over medium heat, melt 1/4 cup Shea nut oil, 1 tablespoon grapeseed oil, and 2 tablespoons beeswax pastilles or grated beeswax. Once thoroughly blended, turn off the heat and add the essential oils. Pour into a small container with a lid and allow to cool and solidify.
Magnesium Oil Headache Salve (Radiant Life Catalog)
1/2 ounce beeswax
4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons castor oil (or olive oil)
1 tablespoons magnesium oil
20 drops peppermint essential oil
10 drops lavender essential oil
10 drops citrus essential oil (lemon, orange, or grapefruit)
The magnesium in this recipe makes this balm especially potent against such extreme headaches as migraines. Place beeswax and olive oil in a double broiler over lower heat until melted. Remove from heat and add magnesium (available at health food stores and online), castor oil, and essential oils. Whip with a fork and pour into a small glass jar with a lid. Refrigerate for approximately 30 minutes until set.
4-Ingredient Headache Balm (Simply Stacie)
1/4 cup coconut oil
20 drops peppermint essential oil
12 drops lavender essential oil
10 drops Frankincense essential oil
This is the easiest recipe out there. Simply melt coconut in a double broiler over medium heat, remove from heat and stir in oils. Pour into a container of your choice and allow to cool for an hour before sealing with a lid.
Keep your DIY headache balm with you in your purse, wallet, pocket, glove compartment, nightstand, and anywhere else where it will be easily accessible. As soon as you feel the first signs of a headache, dip your finger into your balm and gently massage the home remedy into your temples, the back of your neck, and the pressure point between the thumb and forefinger. Take a moment to sit back, close your eyes, and breathe deeply. You'll be surprised by just how quickly your headache evaporates.
