This all-natural cold remedy tea from Dzung Duong of Honeysuckle not only works to boost your immune system, but it also tastes delicious. The best part? You probably already have the ingredients needed for this recipe in your pantry. In the video below, Duong tells viewers, "It really works!"
To begin, thinly slice two small lemons and an orange and combine them in a large bowl, taking the time to remove the seeds. These two fruits are jam-packed with vitamin C, which helps the body's natural defenses and, according to the Mayo Clinic, may even improve your mood.
Next, peel a knob of ginger (roughly 2 inches long) and grind it before adding it to your bowl. WebMD notes that ginger is an excellent soothing agent, and is also commonly used to calm an upset stomach.
Then, throw in a tablespoon of turmeric. Though most frequently used to flavor curry, WebMD writes that this powerful spice acts as an effective anti-inflammatory.
Finally, pour a cup of raw organic honey into the concoction and mix well before storing it in a jar. Honey, or "liquid gold" as Duong describes it, soothes even the scratchiest throat and, according to Medical News Today, may also possess antiseptic and antibacterial properties.
Once all the ingredients are well-combined, they can be stored in your refrigerator for up to a month. One batch of this natural cold remedy tea should last for approximately 30 cups of tea.
