Noticeable hair loss can have many causes: heredity, hormones, chronic medical conditions, and medication are four common reasons. Losing 50-100 hairs per day is normal, but seeing a drain or brush full of hair can be disconcerting.
Depending on the cause of the problem, hair loss can be combated in a variety of ways. While the list of ways to combat hair loss can be extensive, we go over an easy, natural topical solution that you can try out at home. As always, be sure to consult a medical professional, specifically a dermatologist, for hair loss concerns.

If treating an underlying medical problem or medication doesn’t help, nutrition can be helpful in restoring hair growth. Getting enough protein is important, and healthy fats support scalp health by reducing inflammation.

Healthy levels of iron, zinc, and biotin consumption – preferably through food rather than supplements – is also recommended.
For topical treatment of hair loss, try jojoba oil.

This oil is similar to human sebum, and therefore considered particularly effective for skin and hair. Moisturizing hair follicles with jojoba oil helps the strands stay strong.
The oil can be applied by adding it to shampoo or conditioner, or via a 5-step deep conditioning process:
1) Put a small amount of oil in a microwaveable bowl. A little goes a long way; you only need enough to lightly cover your hair.

2) Heat the oil to warm, not hot.

3) Apply evenly to all hair strands, taking care not to apply too thickly to the scalp.

4) Cover hair with a shower cap, and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.

5) Wash hair normally, and allow to air dry.
